Marvellous Midlife? You Bet It Is
If you listen to most conversations about menopause, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s nothing but hot flashes, brain fog, joint pain, and the slow unravelling of everything you once recognised about your body. If we’re being honest, we’re getting a bit fed up with all the negativity. There are so many hidden upsides to mid-life and to menopause and it’s about time we called some of them out for you.
Tracy and Kim as you know are both right in this season along side you. Here is how they feel about this time in their lives.
Tracy shared “I love that it’s my turn. Yes, there are still 3 adult children to think about, aging parents and concerns there, but a large portion of my time in the day…is mine! I can become whoever I want to become – I can travel if I want, learn a new language, put together a program, make money, spend money, hang with friends, learn a new skill, take up a hobby. If I can dream it, I could do it! I like that bit of freedom”
Kim joined in by saying “There is a very pure and unadulterated joy to knowing I do not have to measure up to anyone else’s expectations anymore. I can be myself and not care in the slightest, what anybody thinks of me. I know who I love, care about and respect and they are who matter to me. I no longer feel apologetic for what I want to spend my time on, or who with. The choices I make are mine and that is an incredible gift that this age has brought with it”
Menopause and midlife for many of brings a quiet but powerful transition thoroughly into the world of no longer caring what others think, and a confidence that is a true mix of owing our decades of life experience, and not being afraid to stand by it. Here are just a few of the upsides you can celebrate and champion.
- You tend to care less about nonsense: You’ve lived enough life to know what actually matters, and what really doesn’t. You’re far less interested in people-pleasing, shrinking yourself, or tolerating situations that drain you. Boundaries stop feeling rude and start feeling essential. That clarity? It’s earned.
- You know yourself better than ever: By now, you’ve gathered decades of data. You know how you respond to stress, what drains your energy, what fills your cup, and when something is “off.” You’re no longer guessing – you’re observing. That self-knowledge is a form of intelligence, and it’s incredibly powerful when you choose to use it.
- Your confidence comes through: This isn’t the loud, performative confidence of youth. It’s the steady kind that comes from having survived hard things, rebuilt yourself, and kept going anyway. You don’t need validation in the same way. You trust your instincts more. You’re less rattled by outside opinions. That inner steadiness is a gift.
- Your priorities sharpen: Time feels more precious now, and oddly, that’s a good thing. You’re more intentional with how you spend your energy, who you give it to, and what you say yes to. You’re allowed to want health, strength, peace, pleasure, and purpose, not just productivity.
- Your body isn’t broken: Yes, it may need different support than it once did. But this isn’t failure. It’s adaptation. Midlife is an invitation to work with your physiology instead of fighting it, to train smarter, fuel more deliberately, rest more unapologetically, and redefine what “feeling good” actually means for you now.
- You get to rewrite the narrative: Menopause is not the beginning of the end. It’s a transition, one that can lead to greater self-respect, self-trust, and self-leadership than you’ve ever had before. You’re not losing relevance. You’re shedding layers that no longer fit.
This season isn’t about fading, it’s about becoming more you than ever.

A note from Tracy & Kim
We want to take a moment to address something openly and thoughtfully.
In the past, I’ve recommended Dr. Peter Attia as a resource in the longevity space. At the time, that recommendation was based on his discussions around healthspan, fitness, and aging.
Recently, his name has appeared repeatedly in the Epstein files. While we’re not here to speculate, debate, or turn this into a political discussion, we are here to be clear about our values.
Because of this information, he is no longer someone I feel comfortable recommending or referencing moving forward.
Our community is built on trust, safety, integrity, and care, especially for women. That means we regularly reassess not just what information we share, but who we amplify. When new information comes to light, it’s our responsibility to adjust accordingly.
What hasn’t changed is our commitment to you.
Kim and I remain grounded in:
- Evidence-based fitness, nutrition, and wellness.
- Research that is transparent and human-focused.
- Creating a space where women feel supported, respected, and guided, not confused or conflicted.
You never need to agree with every decision we make, but you can trust that our choices are made with your well-being at the center. If this brings up thoughts or feelings for you, you’re welcome to reach out privately.
Thank you for being part of a community that values both strength and integrity
Tracy & Kim
