Your Metabolism Is NOT Broken
It’s a statement you have heard over and over again – “it’s not you, your metabolism is broken”. THAT’S why you can’t lose weight, why all your efforts feel wasted, why nothing seems to swing the dial.
It’s simply not true. The research and evidence we now know about how your metabolism works means we can put this myth to bed, but it opens the question – what IS going on?
It’s not your metabolism, it’s your muscle.
As we age, you naturally lose lean muscle mass, a process called sarcopenia. This is a natural curve of aging – whatever we do, your body naturally begin to lose that muscle. So you’re are already fighting against nature. Muscle is the most metabolically active tissue in your body and it plays a major role in how your body handles carbohydrate, as well as insulin sensitivity. Essentially, it’s function is not just for strength, it’s impacting your metabolism too.
As muscle shrinks as you age, you’re looking at some significant impacts:
- Your metabolic “engine” gets smaller: Muscle does contribute to resting energy expenditure, but more importantly it determines how efficiently your body uses fuel. Research from experts like Dr. Stuart Phillips shows that preserving and building lean mass is critical for maintaining metabolic health as we age. PMID: 26960445.
- More muscle…better metabolism: Skeletal muscle is the primary site for glucose disposal in the body. Translation: it’s where carbs go to be stored and used. More muscle = better blood sugar control. Less muscle = higher circulating glucose + increased fat storage. Research consistently shows that resistance training improves insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake. PMID: 8808989
In conclusion, you need to fight that curve and go against the downturn – take back control over your own metabolic health. So, let’s give you the tool’s you need to achieve that and for FREE.
